{"id":1480,"date":"2003-01-12T23:59:49","date_gmt":"2003-01-12T22:59:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caliban.org\/wp\/?p=1480"},"modified":"2010-03-19T22:07:44","modified_gmt":"2010-03-19T21:07:44","slug":"12th-january-2003","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caliban.org\/wp\/2003\/01\/12th-january-2003\/","title":{"rendered":"12th January 2003"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I spent a couple of hours today adding the ability to determine <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruby-lang.org\">Ruby<\/a> module dependencies to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rpm.org\/\">rpm<\/a>. rpm 4.1 already does this for Perl modules, so it seemed a worthwhile addition to be able to perform the same magic for Ruby, since I pretty much use that language exclusively these days (apart from bits and bobs in C, but that&#8217;s usually just for extending Ruby).<\/p>\n\n<p>Anyway, I&#8217;ve submitted the code to Jeff Johnson, so perhaps it will make its way into the CVS tree.<\/p>\n\n<p>Another year arrives and another passes by. The headlong march into decrepitude continues. This will be a year for major decisions and major consequences stemming from those decisions.
